When you arrive for your appointment, please be aware of the following:

  • Please do not enter the barber shop until you are waved in, receive a phone call or a text.
  • Please come alone. Only the barbers and their respective clients will be allowed in the shop since we are minimizing the number of people at any given time.
  • As soon as you enter, you will be asked to use hand sanitizer and your temperature will be taken. You will be asked several questions regarding COVID-19 and you will be asked to sit in the barber chair.
  • Please be sure to have a face covering for the entire time that you are at the barber shop. If you forget to bring one, you can purchase a mask for $5. Services will not be provided to anyone without a face covering for the protection of all of us.
  • Be sure your hair is freshly washed. If you prefer to have us wash your hair, please book that service accordingly. No one should be washing their hair in the barber shop’s bathroom sink according to the new guidelines. There will be an additional charge of $20 should that happen.
  • A fresh cape, neck towel and smock (for the barbers) will be used for each client.
  • All tools, barber chairs and counters will be disinfected before and after each client.

NOTE: If you are not feeling well, please stay home and reschedule your appointment.

Louie's was established in September 1993 with one stylist, Louie, in a 900 square foot space. Louie knew there was great potential to grow the business to what it is today, a five-person Barbershop on the Boston University campus at 712 Commonwealth Avenue. Our growth is due to the deep dedication of our staff to stay in tune with today's hairstyles.

At Louie’s we are always trying to master new techniques and create a warm and welcoming environment for our clients.

We believe that growth is a part of learning and hard work. Our press articles reflect this hard work and the reason why our clients have stayed so loyal to us.

When booking your appointment online at Louie's. Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.
If you are late for your appointment, you may experience a reduced service time in order for the service provider to prepare for the next guest OR you may be asked to use another service provider, if there is one available.
If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call to let us know at least 6 hours prior.
A no-show fee will be applied if you do not show-up for your appointment or cancel your appointment with less than 6 hours notice. The no-show fee consists of 100% charge of the service appointment booked. You may also be asked to use a credit card to hold any future appointments.
